I’m posting here to check if others are experiencing the same issue and to get clarity from the Google AI team.
In my case, my project was previously correctly shown as Tier 2 in the AI Studio dashboard. Recently, I noticed that it has silently changed to Tier 1.
Important details:

I did not make any changes to the project, billing, or API setup

I did not receive any email or notification about a tier change

As far as I know, my billing status / usage conditions did not change
I found multiple similar reports describing the same behavior, where projects that were previously Tier 2 appear to revert to Tier 1 without explanation.
Examples:
This is already impacting production usage and creating uncertainty for developers relying on stable quota behavior.
Could someone from the Google AI / Gemini team please confirm whether this is a known issue.
Any clarification would be appreciated, as this is affecting real workloads and production systems.
