My project PYJAMA DESIGN (ID: gen-lang-client-02906298..) on billing account “My Billing Account” (01B866-FAA5A3-AEFB…) shows “Project has been downgraded” in the Gemini API billing dashboard.
Account state:
- Paid Tier 1 (Postpay)
- A$11.19 spent this month, healthy payment status
- Billing account active, no overdue invoices
- Usage well below all rate limits across all models:

Nano Banana Pro: 2 / 20 RPM, 14 / 250 RPD

Nano Banana 2: 2 / 100 RPM, 13 / 1K RPD

Nano Banana: 3 / 500 RPM, 32 / 2K RPD
- Premium image-gen requests return truncated responses (IncompleteRead) or 503/504 errors; basic text models still work.
Already tried:
- Toggling billing off and back on (relinked the same billing account)
- Tested with a freshly generated API key — same behaviour
- Confirmed via direct urlopen testing: 2.5-flash text returns 200, image-gen models truncate mid-stream
This appears to match the pattern in several recent threads from the past week (170055, 170003, 169876, 168283, 169573 — all reporting the same incorrect-downgrade behaviour on Tier 1/2 projects with healthy billing).
Could a staff member please investigate why this project is in downgraded state and restore it to its proper Paid Tier 1 level? Happy to share additional logs via DM if needed.
