Hello Google team,
My project was on Paid Tier 2 and has been automatically downgraded to Tier 1 with no action or notification on my side. Billing is active and compliant, and I’m now getting 429 RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED on
production traffic, which is degrading my live app.

Billing status:
- Prepay, balance currently positive.
- No failed payments and no spend cap has been hit
Symptoms:
- https://aistudio.google.com/rate-limit now shows Tier 1 limits (it showed Tier 2 as recently as 2026-06-08).
- All Gemini calls (transcription, TTS, chat) are being throttled.
- This matches the widespread Tier 2 → Tier 1 auto-downgrade reports on this forum over the past weeks.
Request: Please investigate and restore my project to Tier 2. I made no changes that should have affected tier qualification, and I’ll provide the project number and billing account ID via DM for
verification.
