Google AI Studio Starter Tier missing for existing published app

Hello Google AI Studio team,

I have an existing full-stack app called Virtual RCA Facilitator - VRF created in Google AI Studio Build Mode.

The app was previously published and working.

Now the published URL returns a server error because Cloud Run reports:
“The request failed because billing is disabled for this project.”

I do not want to reactivate paid Cloud Billing or add another payment card.

When I go to Publish → Confirm project and billing, I only see:

Gemini Project - VRF
No billing setup
Set up billing
Refresh

The Google Cloud Starter Tier option does not appear, even after refreshing.

Could you please check:

  1. Whether my account is eligible for the free Starter Tier.
  2. Whether Starter Tier publishing has been provisioned for my account.
  3. Whether my previous Cloud Billing setup is preventing Starter Tier from appearing.
  4. Whether my existing VRF app can be republished on the Starter Tier without enabling paid billing.

I want to keep my existing application, code, configuration, and data. Please do not suggest deleting or recreating the app unless absolutely necessary.

I can provide screenshots of the Publish screen and Cloud Run error if required.

Thank you.

Hello @NAE ,

Not all accounts are eligible for The Starter Tier. Please check out the caveats mentioned in the Google AI Studio deployment documentation. Eligibility is determined automatically, and we cannot review Starter Tier access manually.

You might want to consider linking a Cloud Billing account to your project.
