Hi everyone,
I’m writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent changes to usage limits in Google AI Studio / Build.
As a paying Google user (AI Premium/Pro subscriber), I find it unacceptable that my subscription isn’t recognized within the Build environment. Despite paying a monthly fee for Google’s AI services, I am still being relegated to the Free Tier limits.
With the recent generation cuts, the tool has become practically unusable for professional development. To make matters worse, the new tier system announced yesterday (mentioning the $100 thresholds) feels like a massive paywall for those of us who already have over 20 active projects and relied on this ecosystem.
I am forced to look at alternatives like Codex or Claude Code, which currently offer a much more transparent and “honest” value proposition for developers.
My questions to the team/community are:

Is there any plan to integrate existing AI Pro subscriptions into Google AI Studio usage tiers?

Why are loyal, paying customers being treated the same as free users, only to be told we must pay an additional, exorbitant amount to maintain our current workflow?
It’s disappointing to see such a powerful tool become inaccessible to the very developers who have been building on it.
