Urgent: Gemini API Downgraded to Tier 1 Due to Suspicious Activity — No Appeal Option Available

Hello Google AI Studio Team,

My production project has unexpectedly been downgraded to Tier 1 with the following warning:

“Suspicious activity was detected on your project. Secure your credentials.”

Project details:

  • Project ID: gen-lang-client-06… (full ID available privately)

  • Current tier: Tier 1

  • Configured project spending cap: $3,000/month

  • Current monthly spending: approximately $634

  • Issue: Gemini API service is paused due to the lower tier spending restrictions.

I checked the Google Cloud Console, but there is no warning banner or “Request an Appeal” button.

The “Get support” link redirects to a general Google Cloud policy FAQ, and the Gemini API Tier Downgrade Report Form is no longer accepting submissions.

I am reviewing and securing the project’s API credentials.

Could someone from the Google AI Studio team please:

  1. Investigate the suspicious activity flag and clarify what triggered it?

  2. Provide the appropriate security review or appeal process?

  3. Help restore my previous paid usage tier once the project has been verified as secure?

This interruption is affecting my application’s API availability.
