Upgraded from ai plus to ai pro - no limit change

I was using AI studio with the ai plus subscription. It said I hit my daily limit and said I need to upgrade either to pay as you go or upgrade my subscription. Upgraded my subscription to pro and it says I’m still at my daily limit. It’s been an hour and a half so I’m assuming it should have had time to kick in since.

Even as a already existing pro user, we didn’t get any changes for gemini pro in playground. It’s still the same.

Hi @AznGod and @Yash_Ganatra

Were all your request returning an 429 error ?

Which models were you trying our in playground ?

Gemini 3.1 Pro.

Not all requests were returning 429(that was the case before, but it got patched), but there was no change in free and pro plan quota for the same model.

I was trying Gemini 2.5 pro and hit the limits before the ~50 request mark even on an account with elegible subscription status.

So here it is. On Pro, had no other conversations this day, have gotten this.
A link if you need one: https://aistudio.google.com/app/prompts?state={“ids”:[“1rzgvchsPmEt5L75a60a8KdjWjlrLYJc5”],“action”:“open”,“userId”:“105253374172857748062”,“resourceKeys”:{}}&usp=sharing

As a now paid user, I’m incredibly frustrated. @Logan_Kilpatrick in the other thread people are sending you daily reminders. Well I’ll start doing it here. The G1 AI subscription page says about higher AI Studio quota and it was a final reason for me to actually get that subscription (was thinking about Claude but decided against it when they have cut the quota for all users. We saw disrespect against both free and paid users, now we see this deception pointed against paid users.

Hi…I got the same issue today. Upgraded at 2pm EST, to Google AI Plus, logged back into Ai Studio and it still asked me to upgrade. Well I then upgraded tp Google AI Pro, and stil the same issue. It has to be on the Google side where one system is not updating the other. Google…please fix it :sob:

Hi,

I am encountering the same problem, was this resolved for you?

Regards

Hello, I have the same problem. I have a one-year subscription to AI Pro, but the limits for Gemini 3.1 ran out after about 10 requests, and the system asked me to renew my subscription, even though I already have one. Additionally, in Google AI Studio, I lost the colored border that highlights my nickname (indicating my subscription), even though I still have the colored border in my Google account, and my subscription is valid until September of this year!

I don’t remember at this point. I wasn’t able to make any requests at all after upgrading. I had to wait for the day to roll over which was kind of a buzz kill when you are in that moment  I switched over to using antigravity, but I was really liking using aistudio to try things out easily on my phone on the go.

Honestly I think they have totally buggered up this rollout. Had the same issues until I got direct personal assistance from the team to solve it. Now once again the responses I am able to put out are worse in quality and quota than free tier. A free tier that by the way is able to have video’s and such linked in chat, Pro plan you can’t because of either a bug or by design.

Honestly paying for Pro and getting anything less than 100 responses for something like 3.1 pro a day is just not worth it. Not having any actual information on the actual rates is also a genuinely awful and dubious practice.

Whatever they are messing with on the Subscription program. It is not at the level expected for something that was said to be coming for over a year now.

@Logan_Kilpatrick, some accounts still experience this issue. Please look into it.
