Our production Google Cloud project was downgraded in Google AI Studio with:
“The project has been downgraded. Suspicious activity was detected. Please protect your credentials.”
We cannot raise the usage tier. Cloud Console shows no warning/appeal banner.
Details:
- Project ID: iiba-production
- Project number: 2310092629..
- Cloud project lifecycle: ACTIVE (not suspended)
- Symptom: Gemini Developer API 429 “monthly spending cap”
- Gemini keys are restricted to generativelanguage.googleapis.com only
- Firebase/Maps keys do not include the Gemini API
- Unused temporary Places API key was deleted
This looks like an AI Studio Trust & Safety / leaked-key flag on a production app, not a GCP project suspension.
Please review and restore the original paid tier (or raise the monthly spend cap).

The “Suspicious activity was detected” banner in Google AI Studio indicates that allowed usage limits were temporarily lowered for project iiba-prod... following an automated security alert for potential credential compromise.
Next steps:
- Check project owner and essential contact inboxes for the notification email with subject “Action Required: Suspicious Activity Observed on Google Cloud Project
iiba-prod...” that would have been sent to your project contacts.
- Secure your project by rotating credentials, removing unneeded API keys, and adding API key restrictions.
- Respond directly to that notification email or support case with an explanation and confirmation that necessary measures have been taken to secure your project.
This should now have been unblocked. Could you please check and confirm @Diego_Alessandro_Bac
