This is absolutely awful. Before, they forced everyone to wait a week, even pro users with very tight budgets, and now they’re taking away the IDE?
I’ve been a Google One Pro user for over a year, and when I saw that Antigravity was using my plan, I kept paying the $20 despite the initial obstacles. But now it’s become complete garbage.
The IDE is always throwing errors, the budgets are too tight, and now they have the nerve to remove the IDE even if you specify “Also install Antigravity IDE.” But surprise, surprise, it doesn’t appear after updating. Even if I uninstall everything and install Antigravity IDE, it still opens that stupid Antigravity Agents program.
Let’s be honest, the only reason we all used Antigravity was because of Claude’s model, which offered a generous 5-hour wait time. But those days are gone. They removed the only thing that made it “popular,” and without that, people simply switch to something else that at least doesn’t crash or have performance issues.
It’s not all bad, though. I’ve built incredible projects with AntiGravity, something I couldn’t do before, but it’s time to leave this unbearable thing behind.
Now, with this AntiGravity Agents, Gemini quotas are exhausted in a SINGLE PROMPT. I didn’t even do anything as strenuous as restructuring my code or thinking of a solution; I just requested the creation of an AGENTS.md file, and it was used up immediately.
THIS WASN’T A GUT PUNCH. IT WAS A PUNCH TO THE FACE.
Google’s total lack of regard for its users is driving me away. They get one last chance to correct this nightmarish behavior.
I’m really tired of chanting 'YOU HAD ONE JOB - JUST THE ONE!!"
Antigravity and “Antigravity IDE” are now two separate installations.
Before It was a single installation and antigravity had a big button for agents manager at the top that opened the agents manager in a new window. Now they decided to separate them both. It asked if I wanted to import my data from the previous installation, I said yes and it failed to do that…
I believe they’re treating Antigravity differently than before. Rather than a traditional code editor they’re making it an agent interface only. I mean you can not edit files directly with Claude Code itself as well and I believe this is the direction they’re going for. I don’t like it much as well but you can always use external tools for manual edits if they’re manual and that’s why I don’t think quitting is necessary. If they have a vision for the product I’d like to see that vision and use the product accordingly. This is not necessarily a “developer” oriented change but I believe Google cares more about the general accessibility of their tools by a variety of an audience.
The previous (modified!) IDE interface does exist, and @MonkeyDrone called it out. I just had to uninstall all Antigravity installations and start over.
the installer now different, but the worse things is, after you install Antigravity 2.0, it will always direct you to that version even you have IDE installed on your local, but once you did it you loss everything on your IDE
And i agree. The Cota for PRO is ridiculous, 1 WEEK to update? And the flash make a dumb job then you need to correct with the pro, and cicle in this until hours later you make in 2 days all your cota. That’s not correct.
You can get your IDE with that separate installer, but the Claude for VS code and Codex for VS code extensions are also gone. Use only the Google provided model with a google only plan. Im gone from Antigravity as well. Back to VS code..
I am totally disappointed from this spilitting of ide and agent manger, For a Beginner Developers like us we need to know what files are changed and what not and how and also the old antigravity was better with 2 window split option
I thought this was an upgrade but it feels like this is the downgrade from the previous version nothing changed
Totally agree, it is really annoying to get users to relearn and find all the tools hidden when working on the code. Also, it forces to load everything as a project… I just want to create a simple one-off automated script, but need to create a project first…
