Google AI Flow Video generation fails with “Oops, something went wrong” when using Avatar with Omni Flash model

Description:
Since July 1, I have been unable to generate videos using Google AI Flow with the Omni Flash model when using an avatar. Every attempt fails with the error message: “Oops, something went wrong.” I have tried multiple times, but the issue occurs consistently.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a new project in Google AI Flow.
  2. Select an avatar.
  3. Enter a video generation prompt.
  4. Set the video format to 9:16.
  5. Select the Omni Flash model.
  6. Click Send to generate the video.

Frequency:
Occurs every time since July 1.

Video generation fails every time and shows the error message: “Oops, something went wrong.” Please review and let us know when this will be fixed.

I am also having same problem.. if you get solution please write here

Same issues here! please if aynone have solution lets us know!

Same problem here. whatever I type in the prompt i get “Oops, something went wrong”.

Have the same trouble and no fix until now

It is very frustating, no offcial mail or news from google, it is 2 days since AI Avatar video genration is not working

Hello everyone,

This community dedicatedly supports the Gemini API and Google AI Studio. If you have issues with Google Flow, please visit the Google Flow App, click on the three dots in the menu, and select Feedback to report your issue.

Since july 1 i am getting same problem

All models (Omni, Veo, etc) fail when attempting in Flow.

Avatar was created in Gemini with a personal @ tag. Flow requests a @Me tag or UI selection. Personal @ tag created in Gemini does not function for video generation in Flow. Personal @ tag does function in Gemini’s Veo.

The @Me and UI tags DO work in Flow when remixing a referenced video.

The costly workaround is to create a generic video of the same action and Remix the video (an additional 10-20 credits) with the Avatar.

Still facing the same issue with Google Flow. Every image generation is failing. I really felt embarrassed during one video creation session. Please look into this ASAP.

i’m also facing the same issue, it is happening only when I’m trying to use my avatar. without avatar it is generating the video without any failure.

i had a subscription of ultra i had purchased 10 days before but because of this problem i cancelled it. i am still trying to figure out with my other pro plan why i can not generate video with my own avatar even in my prop plan. send a message to them but no reply. thinking of contacting them on phone. i made a video to share my experience of how i got the refund, the link to watch it is https://studio.youtube.com/video/7xmZJ-Hgv6U/edit but no reply why its happening. hope some one share their experience. thank you.

Same issue here; if anyone has found a solution, please share it with us.
It’s having more impact on my work.

Yet, I was at least able to go into a previous video and click to “reuse text prompt” and after adding changes it renders the video, but may be intermittent. New video requests with @me (e.g. avatar) show progress up to 99% and then error out and purge completely from history after that.

Same issue from 5 days. Google should fix this I paid only to use this feature otherwise I would have gone for Kling Ai.

Same, I am getting the error while generating videos using Avtar however credits are getting deducted despite generation fails.

India | Pro Plan

Same here. Gets to 99 percent then fails everytime. I made sure its not something in the promp . I just put @ me saying Hello and still fails. Its broken

The feedback button google flow is broken. Just says unable to send

If someone finds an alternative tool for generating video using Avatar, please let me know

(I am also in searching; if i found domething i will write.)

I have been experiencing the same issue since July 1st. My @Me avatar no longer works correctly in Google Flow, making it impossible to generate videos consistently.

I opened a support ticket with Google AI Pro and completed all the requested troubleshooting steps, including testing on different devices, browsers, networks, and providing screenshots and screen recordings. My case has now been escalated to the higher-tier support team.

The support team has confirmed that their engineering team is investigating intermittent avatar and video generation issues. However, I have not received any concrete update or estimated timeline (ETA) for when the issue will be resolved.

I’m sharing my experience here in case it helps confirm that this is affecting multiple users and is not an isolated account issue.
