I am developing a small video-game inventory application in Portugal and cannot use the Gemini API.

Environment: Python, Google Gen AI SDK, macOS
Even a minimal text-only generate_content request asking “Reply only OK” returns:
403 PERMISSION_DENIED
“Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.”
This test does not use any scraped content, images or files.
I generated a replacement API key through AI Studio and verified that the application loads the configured key. The error persists. I do not see a restriction banner on the Cloud Console welcome page.
Could you review the project’s Gemini API access and explain what action is required? I can provide further details through a private support channel.
