CRITICAL BUG: Paid Project (Tier 1) Stuck on Tier 1 Token Limit Despite Meeting Reqs

Hi team,

We’re using the Gemini API in production. We’re stuck on Tier 1 rate limits despite our billing account spend being well above the Tier 2 threshold.

Our situation:

  • Billing spend well above the $250 Tier 2 requirement
  • Paid project with active billing — not a free tier issue
  • The upgrade path in AI Studio does not work
  • Tried creating a new project under the same billing account — same result

What we’ve tried:

  • Submitted the tier upgrade request form (told 24 hours — no response)
  • Followed up on the support thread — no response
  • Created a new GCP project linked to the same billing account — tier did not carry over

Impact:
This is directly impacting our users’ experience in production. We’d really appreciate a manual review or escalation. Happy to share project IDs, billing details, or whatever else is helpful via DM.
