Antigravity Installer & IDE Update Broken Setup

The recent Antigravity update made the installation experience much worse.

Separating the CLI and IDE into different downloads is confusing, and the installer behavior is frustrating:

  • Normal install fails to replace old DLL files
  • Running as Administrator gives another warning/error
  • Then users are told to download a separate “System Installer”

The whole setup/update flow now feels unnecessarily complicated compared to older versions.

Main issues:

  • IDE is harder to find/install
  • Installer behavior is unclear
  • Updating existing installs feels unreliable

Temporary Solution / Workaround

I finally got Antigravity working again.

What worked for me:

  1. Completely uninstall ALL Antigravity components from Control Panel

  2. Remove old leftover installations/files if they still exist

  3. Reinstall only the latest Antigravity IDE

  4. After reinstalling, everything worked normally again
    So if anyone is stuck with:

  • missing IDE

  • DLL replacement issues

  • installer/admin problems

  • broken previous installation

try doing a full clean uninstall first instead of updating over the old install.

Still think the new installer/update flow is unnecessarily confusing though.
