8 day lockouts solved!

Hi everyone. i just wanted to share my experience and solution. I’m a workspace main user. I was using antigravity “free” since workspace “expanded ai” doesn’t grant anything in antigravity. So I got AI Pro and signed in with my personal account, and used it for the past month. Then, i hit this “7 Day Loop” that everyone is talking about. I tried all the cache clean reinstall reboot different versions remove auth etc. Nothing worked. UNTIL.

I personally use a few browsers, firefox edge and chrome. So, i deleted all my profiles in chrome and signed out of every account except my AI Pro account, then set chrome as my default browser. I did one last cache clean reboot reinstall - and, i’m back in. Not immediately in, i still had to wait for the current timers to resolve - but since then, its been truthful timers and normal 5 hour resets and weekly buckets as promised by AI Pro.

My theory : its account mismatch, thats the “429 error” i heard about, its basically a security flag. Its kinda upsetting because, google has stood by that “7 Day Reset means your bucket is empty”. But, i think theres also the fact that the authsync is like “THATS NOT YOUR BUCKET COME BACK LATER”

Anyways, i did post this over on Reddit, and have been helping a lot of people understand the issue and i go into a lot of detail, but i figured i would drop by here and throw a lifeline for everyone who may still be looking for a solution. I hope this reaches everyone possible!

Its not an immediate fix for getting to “positive hours NOW”. It just gets people back on track to using their IDE.

I’m not here as often as i am other places, but i’ll do my best to try keeping up here if anyone needs help either understanding it or has questions and stuff like that.

TL;DR (Courtesy of Google AI Mode)**

Google’s “Antigravity” system is misidentifying user credentials, incorrectly using restricted work accounts instead of primary “Pro” accounts, which triggers a 7-day lockout. To bypass this, users should sign in on a new default system browser with only the primary “Pro” account in their browser to force the software to use the correct credentials.

The simplest solution is to try installing it in a new Windows environment or in a sandbox.
Of course, even when I installed it that way, the 7-day lock didn’t lift, and I still got the “Undefined AI credits” message—even though I had purchased additional AI credits.:melting_face::melting_face:

No way!! Seriously!!! I kept searching through the forum posts, but I never saw anything like this. Thank you!! Why didn’t I think to just hit Enter and ignore the fact that the button was disabled? I can’t believe this actually works! Wow!!

I’m truly sorry if I gave you that impression.
For the past few days, the customer service team kept telling me to reinstall the app due to token-related issues, so I ended up deleting the AppData cache and reinstalling it over and over again.
Thank you so much.
What disappointed me was Google’s software quality and customer support.

Well it doesn’t seem like the escalation chain is really reaching anyone of any importance over the past weeks. Google’s latest update is a literal NOTHINGBURGER.

The irony is - Free was more stable than this, at least on free 7 days was 7 days, this is what coming up on DAY 13 looks like. I have been able to use models, i think during the security lockout, its possible that the bucket and refresh was possibly frozen - which would explain the timeframe of 3 weeks going back to v1.19.5 when the error FIRST was introduced. Just under 2 days remaining until i have successfully restored my own antigravity ide from the 8+ day lockout and should have returned my account to its proper 5 hour refresh timers on all models - which is my entire Proof of Concept.

In this meantime, my personal computer setup is as follows -
Default Browser, Chrome. 1 profile, 1 account (The AI Pro Account i use in Antigravity). All Antigravity
Quota Tracking Extensions : Removed.
Chrome Extension : Installed.
Method of installation : Submitted feedback via internal antigravity report, deleted userdata/.antigravity userdata/.gemini userdata/appdata/roaming/antigravity userdata/appdata/local/programs/antigravity , deleted all other profiles in chrome, set chrome default system browser, signed out of all other google accounts in chrome except the AI Pro account i am using in Antigravity, signed into Antigravity and was met with a timer that was not the maximum 7 days, but was a few minutes progressed into the timer finally.
Final Observation : when i would do this like, NUKE CACHE REINSTALL, when returning to antigravity the 7 day timer would be at the maximum hours and minutes. I did perform about half a dozen variations until i landed on my current installation which provided the first proof of concept, that i could clear cache uninstall reinstall AGAIN and the timer is not resetting back to maximum 7 days of hours and minutes. It has been stable since then over the past 4-5 days since regaining access to the Agent IDE. It is effectively solved, in about 1.66 days from now, i am expecting to have restored my access to my pro plan.
I will note - not once was i met with any suspension notice or Account Remediation screen, which does suggest this was not any type of ban or implied abuse before or after the 8+day lockout - this is what leads me to believe this is in fact, a security protocol acting erroneously.
Total time to total restoration : about 2 weeks waiting and over a hundred hours of directly addressing this concern on behalf of the userbase. Use restored at 9th(?) day on first model Claude, and Flash the following day.

START – Seeing 7-day (168-hour) timer instead of normal 5-hour refresh

Quick check (answer these – helps know what's happening):
• Is this a 7-day lockout / 168-hour lockout?
• Timers flipping between 5h ↔ 7d recently (around Noon and Midnight PST for many)?
• Have you used copious / heavy usage lately / multiple full real usages?
• Did this happen after zero / very low usage / immediately on launching?
• Do you have multiple Google accounts / profiles signed in?

If YES to any of the above → Definitely follow the steps below.
If NO to all → Follow the steps anyway (it's safe and fixes most cases).

1. Fix Default Browser + Google Account Mismatch (Core Fix)
   - Close Antigravity completely
   - Set your default system browser to one with **ONLY ONE Google profile and login**
   - That single login MUST be your **AI Pro/Ultra/Personal account** (not Workspace/main/other)
   - No other Google accounts or profiles signed in anywhere in that browser
   ↓
Windows tip: Use Chrome Canary as default (keeps normal Chrome separate for work/personal)
Mac tip: System Settings → Accounts/Internet Accounts – keep only one Google account
   ↓

2. Launch Antigravity → Perform sign-in / OAuth
(It pulls credentials from the default browser's clean profile)
   ↓

Does the timer now show truthful 5-hour resets (no forced 7-day loop)?
├── Yes → Success! You're immunized from the security flag.
│ Watch for Windows/browser updates (they can change default!)
└── No → Go to Aggressive Cleanup
   ↓

3. Aggressive Cleanup (if still broken)
   - Remove extra community extensions from Antigravity
   - In your clean default browser (Chrome/Canary):
     • Sign out of Chrome completely (profile icon → Sign out)
     • Clear cache & cookies: Ctrl+Shift+Delete → All time → Cookies + Cached images/files → Clear
     • (Recommended) chrome://settings/content/all → Search "google.com" → Delete all google.com data
     • Sign back in with ONLY your AI Pro/Ultra/Personal account
   - Uninstall Antigravity
   - Delete folders:
     • userdata/.gemini
     • userdata/.antigravity
     • %appdata%\Antigravity (or equivalent)
     • %localappdata%\Programs\Antigravity
   - Reboot computer (do NOT reinstall as Administrator)
   - Reinstall Antigravity fresh
   - Check clean browser is still default → sign in
   ↓

Still not fixed? Waiting 5h-12h may automatically resolve, 7d wait may still be required → Edge case (multi-profiles, Mac weirdness, etc.)
   Post here with:
   • OS (Win/Mac/Linux)
   • Exact timer behavior
   • What you've tried
   → Tailored help coming

END – Post your success story! Help others escape Reset Hell.

│ Tip: For software needing different default browser:
│ - Close Antigravity, ensure LanguageServer process closed in TaskManager
   │ - Switch default temporarily → do the sign-in
│ - Switch back to clean Pro profile before reopening Antigravity

what if i have 2 ai pro accounts?, can i sign into both in the new default browser?

nope! :frowning:

thats the thing thats been so tough for a lot of people to understand (and google too i’m sure)

its not just because it detects a free user - its from just the account identity mismatch.

personally i have firefox and edge to handle all my mega multi like multiple gmail workspace and personal in the same browser, and then chrome i honestly don’t really use that much anyways, so its pretty easy to just let the default be something i don’t rely on, since i’m already doing a casual multibrowser workflow for html testing.

so there is a few versions of chrome you can install simultaneously like canary and dev and beta. so you can have the normal release for your multi account stuff, but then get like, canary and dev and put each pro account in each browser one per. so when you want to switch accounts, sign out of antigravity, change default browser, reboot (so youre guaranteed to reauth as clean as possible), then sign into antigravity with the 2nd pro account.

i haven’t been testing it - because of a few things. 7 days is a long time to risk (and i just have 1 pro personal, my main is workspace expanded which gets treated as free tier by anti). and theres a lot of people running exploits so i’m not like in a super big push to see how close that limit gets me to the sun. but it should work that way in the meantime until google finds a way to deliver a better multiaccount support for pro users that doesn’t lock people out.
