403 PERMISSION_DENIED – Project Restricted

Hello Google Gemini API Team,

I am requesting a manual review of my Gemini API access.

My Google AI Studio project is currently shown as Restricted, and every Gemini API generateContent request returns:

HTTP 403 PERMISSION_DENIED

“Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.”

I have already completed the recommended account verification steps:

  • Phone verification is completed.
  • Age/date of birth is configured on my Google Account.
  • 2-Step Verification is enabled.
  • Authenticator app is configured.
  • Recovery email is verified.
  • Gemini API is enabled in Google Cloud.
  • I created a fresh Gemini API key.
  • The same 403 error persists with the new key.
  • Google AI Studio shows the project status as Restricted.
  • Billing Tier shows “Unavailable”.
  • The Rate Limit page shows “Project quota tier unavailable”.
  • The Rate Limit page says that the project’s API access is restricted.

The API request reaches Google successfully, but access is denied at the project level.

My intended use is legitimate, low-volume development and testing of BusinessOS, a business management application.

I would prefer to use the Gemini API Free Tier if the project is eligible.

Could you please manually review the access restriction on this project and restore Gemini API access if the restriction was applied in error?

For security reasons, I have not included any API keys or credentials.
