URGENT BUG: Access Denied, Redirected to “Available Regions” Page Despite Being in the US and Over 18

Hello,

I am writing to report a sudden and critical access issue with Google AI Studio that started today/yesterday.

I am being instantly redirected to the “Available Regions for Google AI Studio and Gemini API” documentation page, with the message indicating I may not meet the age requirements or may not be in a supported region.

This is a recurring bug that I have seen reported by others in this forum.

My Credentials & Usage:

  • Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States (Supported Region).

  • Age: I am well over 18 (Born in 2003). My Google Account reflects the correct birthday.

  • Prior Usage: I have been successfully using Google AI Studio without any issues since February 2024. The block began suddenly.

  • Network: I am using a standard home laptop/desktop connection with no VPN or proxy enabled.

Troubleshooting Steps I Have Taken:

  1. Attempted access in Incognito/Private mode.

  2. Cleared all browser cache and cookies (for all time).

  3. Verified my Google Account’s Country/Region is set to the United States.

  4. Verified my public IP address is correctly geolocated to the US.

I suspect my account has been incorrectly flagged by the system, as my circumstances match other reports of this “Available Regions” redirect bug.

Could a support engineer please investigate the status and permissions of my Google Account?

Yes, I also find this bug today. No matter how I try different approaches, nothing changed

I have the issue too, from the network tab I can see the API returning: “Account not supported.”
Not sure what it’s caused by.

Same here, I almost fainted when I realized access to my Google AI with several important chats got suspended.

Looks like another way of harvesting personal information by Google - it claimed I was underage (of course, I guess my prompts about SQL stored procedures, Python and Excel made it think so LOL) and demanded I add a credit card to my account - as soon as I did, the access got restored.

Not nice, Google, not nice…

Hi Sonali, could you please explain why she could use Google AI again as soon as she verified her age with her credit card? Does Google AI forcibly require that every user should verify their age, otherwise they can’t use that?

And I have one more advice: Could Google AI directly tell users who faced this problem whether their regions are unsupported or their ages aren’t eligible? Because your prompts now are very confusing. I believe that every user, as a developer, would like to find a bug more easily and more precisely

Yes, i am in Hong Kong, And paid for Google workspace to use Gemini 3 ( as Hong Kong is still not support region, i dont know why) . I worked last night till late, and open this morning found it keep rejecting me as unsupporting region. So sad that i cant keep working and reply my client on time. Please fix it up, google asap! i am now start using Poe for supporting now, but i really want my history on G 3 back…

  • I am in Alabama, US. Incognito mode does not fix it. Please whitelist my account. I’m 52 years old.

Please confirm if you have verified your age (18+) on your google account’s personal page and Ai studio is available in your region. Additionally, check if your account is managed (school/company) or restricted by a Family Group administrator??
