AI Studio redirects me to "Available regions for Google AI Studio"

I am receiving the redirect:

If you reached this page after trying to open Google AI Studio, it may be because Google AI Studio is not available in your region, or you don’t meet the age requirements (18+) for access. You can learn more about the available regions in the following section and other requirements in the terms of service.

  1. I am an adult > 18
  2. I live in the USA
  3. I’ve already been using AI Studio for months.

What is going on?

This redirect usually appears when the service is unable to verify your account’s eligibility or region through your Google identity settings. Even if you’ve used AI Studio before, a mismatch between your account’s country information and the supported list in the AI Studio backend can trigger that message. First, confirm that you’re signed in with the same Google account previously used for AI Studio and that it’s verified as being in a supported country in your Payments profile and Account settings under your Google Account.

If everything looks correct and you’re still being redirected, clear your browser cache or try opening AI Studio in an incognito window to force a fresh region check. In some cases, Workspace-managed accounts can temporarily lose access if organization policies restrict experimental services; switching to a personal Gmail account bypasses that. If the issue persists after verifying your region and sign‑in state, contact Google Cloud Support to confirm whether your project or organization policy has been flagged for regional access review.

Hi @terenceira , Thanks for reaching out to us.

Please confirm if you have verified your age (18+) on your google account’s personal page and Ai studio is available in your region. Additionally, check if your account is managed (school/company) or restricted by a Family Group administrator??

We also have an official way to report such access issues. You can use this dedicated link to report your IP problems accordingly: Report IP problems - Google Search Help

Trying to confirm my age using https://myaccount.google.com/age-verification fails. It forces me to use an ID or credit card which I am never going to do. A birth date should be more than sufficient to use AI studio. I checked my IP location online and it is correct as well. I just reported the IP issue.

I should mention, I can use gemini.google.com perfectly fine with no issue.

Hi @terenceira , Since you have reported the IP issue, could you please confirm if the issue still persists?

Yes, the issue persists. At this point, I’ve effectively given up trying to use Gemini

I’m also trying to use Google’s workflow / Opal tool (the Labs workflow builder), but I get a similar region error:

“This experiment is not available in your country”
or a redirect to a page listing the available regions for the feature.

According to Google’s availability information, this workflow tool should be available in the Netherlands, but I still get blocked no matter which Google account I use. I’ve tested from different browsers and networks (home, mobile hotspot) and I’m still redirected as if my region is unsupported.
Could you check if my account or IP range is incorrectly classified as outside a supported region, and advise how I can get access from the Netherlands?

I’m experiencing the same issue. I tried to verify through email, but it failed, and then I was forced to use ID or selfie verification, which I will absolutely not do as it compromises my privacy.

I have used this account for over 10 years, yet it cannot determine whether I am over 18, which is absurd. I also purchased a one-year subscription and enabled family sharing, but after just four months my access was suddenly restricted. I still have eight months remaining, and if you are unable to provide the agreed service, I expect a pro-rated refund.
Using “child protection” as a reason to impose such intrusive requirements on users is unreasonable and unacceptable.
