first, the good. it’s not just a vscode extension. it’s been redesigned, and in a lot of ways it’s much easier for my agent to use.
no more clunky browser subagent for example, now my agent has actual browser tools.
So well done to the google dev team on that
now the bad
I CAN’T WRITE MY OWN RULES FILES!
and the ide keeps refusing to allow my agent to consider using grep or ls or sed, even though i WANT the agent to do so
what is it with google thinking it’s okay to hard code in rules like this instead of leaving them in the hands of the users. A rules.md file is what’s needed, not hard coded, baked into the compiled files rules
