Suggestions for forum improvements

Hi!

After spending some time with this growing community, I can suggest a few straightforward improvements:

  1. It would be helpful to have links to relevant documentation, AI Studio, etc., in both the sidebar and the footer.

  2. The FAQ could use some improvement. My eyes glaze over immediately when I read:

    Content and Abuse Program Policy

The same applies to the guidelines section.

The following observations are mostly UI-related. I am using Firefox and Opera, but these issues also occur on Chrome for Android.

  1. When typing a reply, the button to send the reply sometimes “moves behind” the keyboard.
While it’s possible to scroll the button back into view, this is particularly confusing because of another unrelated bug where the reply/send button disappears until the page is closed and reloaded.

  2. There seems to be some type of CSS overflow on the right side of the screen.

  3. In the footer, the Google tagline is layered on top of the footer links.

  4. The feature to switch between desktop and mobile view does not work at all.

  5. The greyish font color is too dark and not legible when using low brightness settings. This appears to be a bug because some elements are rendered in a brighter white color.

I hope this helps.

Just wanted to confirm that this is indeed an issue.

here’s the the steps to replicate these issues:

  1. open dev-tools (press the F12 key)
  2. Toggle “device tooldbar” (ctrl + shift + M)
  3. Choose something like “iphone SE”
  4. under element → styles → Toggle common rendering emulations → select “automatic dark mode”
  5. grab the site and pull it around a bit to expose the “footer overflow”

here’s an image as a visual guide:

Good point!
I’m visiting this forum on mobile only and would clarify this in the first post but it appears that editing is only possible for a limited period of time.
