Sudden Drop in Gemini 3.1 and Claude Opus Usage Limits for Google Ultra Subscribers

I am a Google Ultra subscriber, but for the past few days, I have noticed a significant reduction in the usage limits for Gemini 3.1 and Claude Opus. The capacity has dropped to what feels like the ‘Pro’ tier level. I am confused as to why this sudden throttling is occurring specifically to my account.

Are there any other users experiencing similar symptoms, or does anyone have a clear solution to this issue? I am looking for insights into whether this is a known system glitch or a change in Google’s Fair Usage Policy. Any practical advice to restore my original usage limits would be greatly appreciated.

As a Pro user, I’ve actually been experiencing even worse limitations lately, so you’re definitely not alone. The recent changes have made the service feel far more restricted than expected, especially given the tier we’re paying for.

Right now, it feels like the only options for Pro users are either to upgrade to Ultra or start buying additional credits, which is already frustrating. But hearing that even Ultra tier users are facing similar issues makes it even more concerning.

It honestly feels like Google is starting to lose respect for its customers by rolling out these limitations without clear communication or consistency. At this point, it might be worth seriously considering alternatives like github copilot or other providers if things don’t improve.

yes, i initially upgraded from pro to ultra because of pro getting unusable. the moderation on this forum even stated you get insane usage from ultra. for some days it was really good and much better than pro, but since a few days we also have a weekly limit and i made ONE prompt and 20% of Claude is gone.

You have to imagine, its not 20€/month, its 250€/month. This is insane.

If you want to get better limits I suggest moving away from Google and going to Codex with 20€ or Claude with 100€ or even max plans.

You are absolutely correct. However, the nature of dependency is quite formidable. Having already become deeply embedded within the Google ecosystem, transitioning to an alternative is no longer a simple matter.

I have been using the google ultra, for the past 3 months, i use opus majorly and have hit limit just twice, but since last week i have been hitting limit with fewer prompt.
