I’ve been working in ultra mode for two months now, and for the past week I’ve noticed my quota is decreasing much faster, even though I’m working exactly the same way and on a smaller codebase than I started with.
So I don’t understand why, and it’s starting to seriously annoy me that they’re treating us like idiots.
We pay €275 a month, the service is still in beta, and they reduce our quotas like this without any warning.
I really think I’m going to go straight to Anthropic, which seems much more professional than Google AI.
One might argue that I could use Google’s LLMs, but let’s be honest, they’re clearly not up to par.
I only use Gemini 3.1 Pro (High) when I absolutely have to, and only for snippets of code where there’s no logic; otherwise, it reinvents the wheel without me even asking it to…
Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. Our engineering team is currently investigating the matter, and we appreciate your patience as we work toward a resolution.
@Mrinal_Ghosh Find a solution quickly (and not in a week, I’ll pay a fortune, damn it…) because I won’t be the only one abandoning your Google AI solution.
I’m sorry to say this, but I don’t think they will provide any effective response.
They’ve been using this canned response everywhere over the past few days. I believe that cutting losses decisively and moving on is absolutely the only rational choice.
Okay, I’m switching to Claude Code or Codex today. I’m tired of fighting with Google Antigravity, which is buggy with every new version (disappearing conversations, excessive resource consumption on my PC, etc.).
And the quotas that are changed so randomly… I upgraded from Google AI Pro to Google AI Ultra two months ago precisely to get more quota and an “agentic IDE,” but the reality is completely different.
There are forum threads with generic replies, and I’ve submitted dozens of bug reports from within Antigravity. However, I clung to the hope of things improving…
Now, honestly, I think the €275 I’m giving you, Google, isn’t a good investment, and I’m going to look elsewhere who I hope will welcome me properly.
Now, does anyone have any feedback on Claude Code and Codex, regarding quotas, reliability, and whether you’ve noticed any changes?
The truth is, that anyone paying for Ultra, does so for Claude. No one really subscribes to get high Gemini Limits, because we all know, how much Gemini lacks in Coding compared to Claude. I as an Ultra User I am disappointed in the support. That I pay 200€+ to wake up and have my limits reduced by half is crazy. We cannot just say: “Stop OR we will cancel the subscription”. We should all cancel it right now. They do not care about even the highest subscribers.
They just sunsetted Firebase Studio to focus on Antigravity, but honestly they have just lost a lot of respect from the OG community, and developers. Soon, there will be too many youtube videos and redit posts for them to come back from this lack of trust. Therefore, I predict this will also sunset at some point, unless they have some exceptional updates and releases soon.
