Streaming Consistent Errors

Hi Devs,
I’m encountering an issue with streaming to Gemini 2.0 where after a short while, I receive no response from Gemini, and when I check, I see it says “something went wrong, clear chat to start new stream”. I’m currently on a paid plan, how do I stop streaming chats from abruptly cutting off?

Welcome to the forum.

It makes no difference that you are on a paid plan for other models. For Gemini 2.0 Flash experimental, you are on a free plan. Sadly that means your expectations for quality of service are also bounded by free plan quality of service reality.

Same issue. could it be related to when there is another program in focus other then the browser thats running the AI studio session?

Don’t think it could be, as it happens while sharing my screen and staying only in the same browser window as well, it seems to happen consistently regardless of what is focused or what I’m sharing.

Are your sessions saving guys?
Auto-saving in settings

Maybe the session is dropping after a time because its expecting to have saved progress

I tried making sure uBlock was disabled and cleared cookies with no change

Facing the same issue. The “something went wrong” error comes up during audio conversations as well as during screenshare. It abruptly cuts off the conversation after which the conversation has to be cleared and restarted from scratch.

Has anyone found a solution for this?

I have not, yet but just made a Reddit post and am looking into solutions actively.

The same thing happens to me and I don’t use a microphone, I only use a written prom, if Gemini responds in audio, but the same error occurs and it is quite cumbersome…

anyone found a fix for this yet?

  • Do you have screenshot of the issue?
  • are you using very large resolutions ?


This has happened to me in Gemini Flash & Pro 1.5 as well as the Flash and Pro for Gemini 2.0. Seems to work fine for 5-6 weeks and this happens

Oh, it happens on the gemini website as well? I’ve been getting the errors on AI Studio, good to know it’s a consistent issue!

I am having the same issues. I am working with the AI for something like 5 minutes, and then it just disconnects with the same error.

Same thing here. It’s been going on for weeks. My chats in AI Studio never last more than 3-4 minutes before it forces my the clear the chat with a “something went wrong” error message. It makes actually trying to work on anything literally impossible. And I know it isn’t a Network issue for me, I use Ethernet Fiber. Trying to share the screen, just to get started on asking some questions about what you are looking at and then getting cut off, starting over, and over and over and over… it’s really making Google 2.0 Flash frustrating to use at all. I hope the devs understand how severe this issue is in terms of rendering the web chat interface totally useless.
