I’m using Chrome and the Google AI Studio app with a Gemini Pro subscription. Every time I start a Realtime Stream, if screen recording is enabled, it might respond (with delay) to one voice input, then stops. If I share my screen from the start, it becomes unresponsive and eventually shows “Something went wrong.”
This happens consistently. I’ve tried:
- Switching between models (e.g., Gemini 2.5 Flash)
- Running with and without recording/screen sharing
It breaks especially with screen sharing. Many users report the same issue on Google’s forum. Please confirm if it’s a known bug and advise on a workaround or ETA for a fix.

I have this same problem consistently when I use Google AI Studio “Screen Share” mode in Chrome too. I also have the Gemini Pro Subscription. Sometimes it works for a few responses, then errors. Sometimes it errors before it even responds once. This has happened about 10 times in a row in the past hour I’ve been using it. This is consistent with the past few weeks that I’ve tried using it.
I have done all that. Please confirm that this is actually a problem and if there is a fix for this.
On my phone this does not happen. But what does this have to do with anything?
It is obviously a thing that needs to be fixed by google.
Can you confirm that you are aware of the problem. This is a serious one, because it does not allow big numbers of people to use one of the major and useful features of the software.
