Request to restore Gemini API access — "project has been denied access" (403 PERMISSION_DENIED)

Our project is returning 403 PERMISSION_DENIED on Gemini generation and we’d like to request a review + reinstatement.

Error (all API keys, all models):

POST generativelanguage.googleapis.com/v1beta/models/gemini-2.5-flash:generateContent

→ 403 PERMISSION_DENIED

"Your project has been denied access. Please contact support."

What we’ve verified:

  • Project is ACTIVE, Generative Language API is ENABLED, billing is ENABLED.

  • models.list returns 200 — only generateContent is blocked.

  • generateContent worked normally on this project earlier the same day.

What happened: access began failing right after a one-time, legitimate batch

of generateContent calls (automated website-template generation for our SaaS).

It was a brief request spike — not abusive content and not a Terms-of-Service

violation. We have since added client-side rate limiting + exponential backoff

and a hard stop on access errors so this cannot recur.

Impact: this is our production project and live AI features are currently down

for our users. We’ve accepted the Google Terms of Service and the Generative AI

Additional Terms. Could you please review and restore Gemini generation access

for project flayr-studio (4370769088..)? Happy to provide anything else needed.
