403 PERMISSION_DENIED — "Your project has been denied access" on existing working project

Hello Google Gemini API Team,

My Gemini API project was working normally for months and suddenly
started returning 403 errors on all requests within the last few days.

Project name: cda-certificar
Project number: 4427759279..
Account type: Personal Google account
Region: Colombia

Error (occurs on every request, model gemini-2.5-flash, generateContent endpoint):
{“error”:{“code”:403,“message”:“Your project has been denied access.
Please contact support.”,“status”:“PERMISSION_DENIED”}}

What I’ve verified:

  • Generative Language API is ENABLED on this project
  • No prior usage history issues or policy violations
  • Same error occurs with a brand new API key generated in a different,
    freshly created project
  • Billing shows as “Unavailable” in AI Studio

Requesting a manual review and reinstatement of access.

Getting a 403 API error response and / or seeing “Unavailable” next to your project in AI audio indicates a flag has been placed on your account. To proceed:

  1. Check for banners / error callouts in the AI Studio Projects page & the Billing page.

  2. If the issue isn’t clear from the above, contact Cloud Billing Support.
