Request to restore Gemini API access — "Your project has been denied access" (403 PERMISSION_DENIED)

Hello team,

I am requesting a review and unlock of access to the Gemini API for the
project listed below. The error appears consistently and persists even
after generating a brand new, never-before-used API key.

Project details:

  • Project Name: Gemini Project
  • Project ID: gen-lang-client-0526714863
  • Billing Tier: Free tier (billing not yet set up)
  • Account type: Personal Google account
  • Region: Vietnam

Error (model gemini-3.1-flash-lite):
POST https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/v1beta/models/gemini-3.1-flash-lite:generateContent
→ 403 PERMISSION_DENIED
“Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.”

What I’ve verified (ruling out key/auth-format issues):

  • Tested with the original set of API keys (multiple keys, same project) — all returned the same 403.
  • Deleted all old keys and generated a completely brand new API key directly
from Google AI Studio (aistudio.google.com/apikey), which is restricted to
the Gemini API by default — the brand new key returns the exact same 403
error on its very first request.
  • Tested calling the native generateContent endpoint directly (not through
any OpenAI-compatible wrapper or third-party SDK) using a raw HTTPS request
with the x-goog-api-key header — same 403 error.
  • Google AI Studio web interface itself works normally with the same account
(no errors when testing prompts directly in the Studio UI).
  • No policy violation notice or prior warning was received on this project.
  • This project was working normally until around [06/25/2026].

Since the error persists across multiple keys including one created moments
ago, this points to a project-level or account-level block rather than an
issue with any specific key or request format.

Use case: Personal automation project — translating video subtitles
(Chinese to Vietnamese) for a small-scale content workflow, low volume
(under 100 requests/day).

Could you please help review and restore access to this project? Happy to
provide any additional information needed (request IDs, timestamps, etc.).

Thank you.

Hello @Vui_V_Du_L_ch ,

Getting a 403 API error response and / or seeing “Unavailable” next to your project in AI audio indicates a flag has been placed on your account. To proceed:

  1. Check for banners / error callouts in the AI Studio Projects page & the Billing page.

  2. If the issue isn’t clear from the above, contact Cloud Billing Support.
