Request for manual review — 403 PERMISSION_DENIED — Project denied access

Hello Gemini API Team,

I am requesting a manual review of my Gemini API project access.

Every generateContent request from my backend returns:

HTTP 403 PERMISSION_DENIED

“Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.”

I have already completed the recommended account verification steps:

  • Phone number verification is complete.
  • 2-Step Verification is enabled.
  • There is no age-verification warning on my Google Account.

I also tested the Gemini API directly from my local backend using the official Google GenAI SDK, independently of my application logic. The request consistently returns the same 403 project-denied error.

My intended use is a low-volume final-year university project called InterviewIQ AI, an AI-powered interview preparation platform. Gemini is used to generate interview questions and provide educational feedback on candidate answers.

I would like to remain on the Free Tier and am not requesting a paid-tier upgrade.

Could you please manually review the Gemini API access status of this project and restore access if the restriction was applied in error?
