"Rd" error when attempting to upload or insert already uploaded files into context window

I keep getting a red triangle error that says only “Rd” whenever I try to upload or insert a file into the context window of google ai studio. Anybody know what this error means, or how I can get past it? Thanks in advance.

Hi @Myron_Koch welcome to the community!
What file type are you trying to upload? Are you consistently seeing this error?

I’ve tried .txt, .mp4, .mp3, .xls, .jpg, and a few others. Yes, I’m constantly seeing this error. I’m blocked from uploading new files or selecting files already uploaded to my Gdrive for use in the context window. This behavior began after 2 (unrelated) things.

1 - (Old prompt interface) I asked it to complete a task, it got stuck in a loop, I terminated that task. After that, my entire interface seemed laggy

then soon after,
2 - google implemented the new prompt style/interface.

So, to sum up my issue, I can’t upload files through the ai studio interface, nor can I select files already in my google drive in the ai studio interface and put them into the context window. Throws the screenshot error (Rd) from above.

To test, I created a different account, and it works fine over there. All my current prompts are in this account, though, so I’d love to solve this if possible

Also, when revisiting an old prompt and clicking the ‘image upload’ icon, my recent photos doesn’t populate. Instead, it looks like it’s trying to load (displays “…”), but never loads.
After I select or try to upload a file (jpg in this case), the prompt field can no longer type in the prompt field, either.

See screenshot.

Hm, interesting, thanks for sharing all the details! Passing this along to the team to take a look.
Good to know it’s working after creating a new account, but we’ll try to see what’s going on with this one.

Hi @keertk-google
Is there any update on this issue?
I am also experiencing that same problem.
Thank you

Hi @Ben_D welcome to the community!
We’re still looking into this issue internally.

just a quick update that this is still happening, hopefully it gets fixed. Thanks!

I had the same problem about 5 or 6 days ago, then it “resolved” itself. after that it kept saying i’ve reached my rate limit even though I haven’t been able to use it since the “rd” error. today make day 3 that I’m getting the rate limit message even though I’m unable to use it
