I have assigned it to a project and generated an API key. From what I can tell everything should be working, by every time I attempt to upload from my Google Drive into a prompt it gives me the error below without any useful information to troubleshoot. I have tried uploading text files HTML files OpenOffice documents and the file format does not seem to matter. Does let me browse my drive, but when I select the file and click “insert” it gives the error and does not upload:
This suggests that AI Studio itself can’t access the files that you have on drive. Usually this means that you haven’t authorized AI Studio to access your files.
If you’re using a corporate / education account, sometimes your administrator could be blocking AI Studio.
Do you remember authorizing AI Studio to access your drive specifically?
Yes I did. In fact, I revoked that permission and re-added it. It always accepts the permission to access the drive, but then when I try to use the drive it gives the error shown above.
LXG, hello!
Check space availability on your Google Drive. If your Google Drive is full, Gemini will not recognize the file search and will not allow uploading. I recommend using the API until it is corrected. If you want, I’ll send you the command via Python to connect via the API!
