I just refreshed to see that AI Studio has updated again.. though for some reason now in all sessions, you cannot modify any messages by you or the model, nor delete them.
Please add this functionality back. I don’t see why this feature was even removed in the first place, because now accidentally sending a prompt without me including possibly something important the AI needs to know, I have to stop and then just kind of resend the message, taking up more tokens, and also making this experience unnecessarily complex for no reason really.
All you gotta do though is F12 or just right click and go to Inspect Element, next to Elements usually there should be a device icon. Click it and it’ll change the dimensions of the page displayed to you. You can pick any device, though responsive should work.. and for some reason it works; no refreshing too.
Hello, I can confirm I have this bug since 2 days and the only way to show the little bar to either edit, rerun or delete a message is pressing f12 on the prompt, then tab to select another element and THEN the bar appears, and the bar is somehow still not usable.
When hovering a message, nothing appears, I tried anything and nothing works. I tried that on both Opera and Google Chrome and none of them have the bar now, it only works on my phone.
Hello, for some reason it’s not working properly on Desktop PC. The option to edit the model’s messages doesn’t appear at all.
I’ve also noticed other users reporting similar issues — problems with editing both our own messages and the model’s messages.
In my case, I couldn’t even edit my own messages using the mouse; I had to use the Tab key to navigate and enable editing, but still couldn’t click to do it directly.
Please bring back the ability to edit both AI and user messages in AI Studio. This functionality was very useful, and its removal makes the workflow much more cumbersome. Now, if I accidentally send a message missing important context, I’m forced to resend it entirely — wasting tokens and making the process unnecessarily complicated. Thank you.
