Manual Sync Request: "Set up prepay" modal stuck loading despite active Cloud Billing account

Hello,

I’m unable to complete the prepay billing setup for my AI Studio project,
despite having an active, funded Cloud Billing account.

Details:

  • Project ID: linkhubjin-automation
  • Cloud Billing Account ID: 010073-955FE9-9E9D..
  • API Key: LinkHubJin-Automation-Key (…gxgg)
  • Current status shown in AI Studio: “Tier 1 · Postpay” with a
“Set up prepay” link that does not complete
  • The Cloud Billing account is Active, funded ($20), and correctly
linked to this project (confirmed in Cloud Console > Billing >
Account management > Projects linked to this billing account).

What happens: Clicking “Set up prepay” opens a modal that shows
“Loading payment settings…” and then either goes blank or silently
closes without completing. This happens consistently across attempts.

Troubleshooting already done:

  • Confirmed Cloud Billing account is Active (not stuck in Processing)
  • Confirmed project is correctly linked to the billing account
  • Third-party cookies are allowed for google.com domains
  • 2-Step Verification is enabled on the Google account
  • Tried in a fresh tab, retried multiple times

Could someone from the team please manually sync the billing status
for this project? Happy to provide any additional info needed.

Thank you.

Hello @Jin2 ,

Note : There is no manual billing sync at our end.

Cloud Billing credits and AIS prepaid balance are 2 separate things. AIS requires you to load prepaid credits here: https://aistudio.google.com/billing before you are able to use the Cloud Billing credits in AIS. Once you load the prepaid credits (minimum of 10 USD or equivalent in your currency), AIS will first use your Cloud Billing credits before consuming AIS prepaid credits.

In case you are not able to add prepaid funds because of the screen going blank or closing silently, this might be an issue with the browser version/ settings and not necessarily AIS. Would request you to try a) first try incognito b) then try a different browser.

If this still doesn’t work please share a screen recording with us.
