I wanted to report a recurring bug I’ve been experiencing with the AI Studio regarding how previews behave when scrolling.
The Problem
When I scroll up or down a page containing generated AI responses that include document, image, or audio previews, these previews become unstable.
-
Visual Previews (Documents/Images): As I scroll, the previews often flicker, disappear completely for a moment, and then reappear. It feels like they lose focus or have rendering issues during the scroll action. This makes it hard to visually reference them while reading related text.
-
Audio Previews: This is particularly disruptive. If I start playing an audio preview (e.g., a song snippet for analysis) within the chat/response and then scroll down the page while it’s playing, the audio playback stops immediately.
Impact:
-
The visual flickering is annoying and visually jarring.
-
The audio stopping when scrolling completely breaks the workflow if I need to listen while reading or navigating further down the response (like during audio analysis tasks).
Steps to Reproduce:
General Preview Flickering
-
Generate a response from the AI that includes a document or image preview.
-
Scroll the page up and down so the preview moves within the visible area.
-
Observe: The preview may flicker, disappear briefly, or reload.
Audio Playback Stopping
-
Generate a response from the AI that includes an audio file preview.
-
Click to play the audio.
-
While the audio is playing, scroll the page down (or up).
-
Observe: Audio playback stops abruptly.
Is anyone else experiencing this kind of behavior with previews when scrolling? It’s pretty disruptive to the flow of AI use, especially with audio content.
Hoping the Google AI team can look into this rendering/playback stability issue during scrolling.
