I get "This account is ineligible for higher rate limits through a Google AI plan at this time." on a my account

I get “This account is ineligible for higher rate limits through a Google AI plan at this time.”
I live in Germany and “Terms and Service” shows my country as Germany.

Hi @Vladimir_L,

Thank you for reaching out.

Please check the remaining account eligibility requirements that can trigger "This account is ineligible for higher rate limits through a Google AI plan at this time":

  1. Age Verification (18+) & Google One Plan Availability:
    • Personal @gmail.com accounts must have completed 18+ age verification at https://myaccount.google.com/age-verification (if you just completed verification, please allow 24–48 hours for it to propagate).
    • Check that your Google Payments / Google Play billing profile at pay.google.com (Settings > Country/Region) is also set to Germany, and check whether Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra is available for your account on the Google AI plans page (How do I upgrade to a paid Google AI plan?).
    • Note that if you are signing in with a Google Workspace (company or university) account rather than a personal @gmail.com account, individual Google One AI plans cannot be applied (Enterprise).
  2. Refresh Your Session on the Latest Release Without a VPN:
    • Ensure you are running the latest version (Antigravity App v2.24.0, Antigravity IDE v2.5.5, or Antigravity CLI v1.4.2 — Changelog).
    • Disable any VPN or proxy, sign out of Antigravity completely (in Antigravity IDE, run Ctrl+Shift+P / Cmd+Shift+P → Antigravity: Reset Onboarding; in Antigravity CLI, run /logout then /login), and sign back in.
  3. If the Message Persists After 48 Hours:

I want to share the steps that finally resolved this issue for me. Before this, I tried all the usual suggested solutions: Age Verification, checking my Google Payments profile, and refreshing the session—but none of them worked. The actual root cause was related to active Google AI Studio API keys and Google Cloud projects .

How I fixed it:

  1. Delete the API keys: Go to Google AI Studio and delete all active API keys associated with your account.

  2. Delete the Google Cloud Project associated with Google AI Studio: Open the Google Cloud Console, locate the project linked to your AI Studio usage, and completely shut it down / delete it.

  3. Wait for a reset: Give it some time (I waited more than 24 hours) for the system to clear out the old project data and reset your account status.

After completing those steps, the original error message “This account is ineligible for higher rate limits through a Google AI plan at this time” finally disappeared from Antigravity! Now it says: “Free users and Google AI Plus users receive the minimum base limits on Antigravity. You can upgrade to Google AI Pro or above to receive higher rate limits.” Which is correct.

I’m not sure if the original error was a backend bug or if resetting the API keys and Cloud project cleared a flag on my account, but either way, it is working now!

Hope this helps anyone else struggling with the same issue!
