"You are ineligible for higher rate limits through a Google AI plan at this time." Anyone knows how to fix this?

I’m experiencing an error where I cannot upgrade to a higher Google AI plan despite my account meeting the correct & appropriate standards in regards to age requirement, region avaliability including potential quota upgrade too. I cannot figure out why it says “You are ineligible for higher rate limits through a Google AI plan at this time.” Already made a report about it to Antigravity support, but I’m posting here in case a fix appears.

Does your email address end with gmail .com or is it associated with a Google Workspace account?
I seem to recall that only Google One subscriptions are valid in Antigravity – that is, subscriptions made with non-Workspace email addresses.

It does end with gmail com and it is not associated with Google Workspace acocunts. I can’t figure out why it shows it only to me. A co-worker’s account has it running normally, while it shows me ineligibility.

Hello @Toriksta, welcome to AI Forum!

To resolve this, we recommend verifying the following:

  1. Regional Availability: Ensure your current region is on the list of supported countries for paid AI plans. Some regions support free tiers but have different regulatory requirements for paid subscriptions.

  2. Account Type: If you are using a Google Workspace (Business or Education) account, you may be ineligible for individual upgrades. In these cases, your IT Administrator must enable the Gemini service through the Google Admin Console.

  3. Age Verification: Ensure your Google Account has been verified for age requirements (18+), as this is a prerequisite for higher rate limit tiers.

If all the above are correct, clearing your browser’s cache or attempting the upgrade via an Incognito window often resolves temporary session-based eligibility errors.

Thank you for your reply. To answer, my country (Libya) is among the supported regions for Antigravity’s Plans. I am using my personal Google account to which I have previously verified my age to it as well. There seems to be nothing wrong on my end and yet I still get this message of being ineligible for an upgrade plan.
