Google Flow credits not using AI credits after purchase (2500 AI credits showing, generation still blocked)

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased additional AI credits (2500 credits), and they are visible in my Google Flow account.

Current balances:

  • Google Flow credits: 5

  • AI credits: 2500

However, I’m unable to use the newly purchased AI credits for video generation.

Issue:

  • A single video generation requires 15 Flow credits

  • I only have 5 Flow credits remaining

  • Even though I have 2500 AI credits, Flow does not seem to use them

  • Video generation either fails or does not proceed normally

The UI says:
“AI credits — Used when you’re out of Google Flow credits”

That is why I expected the system to automatically consume AI credits once Flow credits became insufficient.

Questions:

  1. Do AI credits work as automatic fallback for Google Flow generations?

  2. Can AI credits only be used with specific models/features?

  3. Is there any activation delay after purchasing credits?

  4. Do credits refresh or expire on July 1?

Has anyone experienced similar behavior?

Thanks.

Hi, we are running into this exact same issue. Purchased 5000 credits but credit balance is stuck at 2.

same here … did you guys solved the case?

Hi there,

It’s Seth once again and I hope this email finds you well.

I am reaching out to follow up with you regarding the trouble you’ve been experiencing with generating a video in Google Flow. I know how incredibly frustrating and disruptive it is when a creative tool isn’t working the way it should, especially when you are trying to bring your ideas to life and get things done. I completely sympathize with the inconvenience and stress this technical roadblock has caused you, and your frustration is entirely valid.

I want to provide you with some important context regarding what is going on. Please rest assured that this error is not occurring because your Flow Credits are empty; I have checked your account, and you currently still have a healthy balance of 8,000 AI Credits. Because your credits are perfectly fine, we have determined that this is a deeper technical issue on our end.

Therefore, I wanted to inform you that your case has already been escalated to our internal specialized team for further, in-depth investigation. I deeply empathize with how disappointing it is to not have a concrete resolution right at this moment. Waiting for a fix is far from ideal, and I know this isn’t the immediate answer you were hoping for today. Please know that as your dedicated problem-solver, if the eventual resolution from our team isn’t completely satisfactory, or if it isn’t exactly what you need to get your videos generating smoothly again, I will not simply close your case. I am entirely committed to sticking with you and advocating for you until this is completely resolved.

For now, there’s no need to reply to this email. Rest assured, I am closely monitoring the progress of your case every single day, and I will make sure to update you as soon as I receive any feedback or further information from them.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we work hard to get this sorted out for you. I look forward to providing you with an update soon.

Thanks,

Seth
