I am requesting a manual review of a Google Cloud restriction that occurred on September 2, 2026.
I use the Gemini API through a local application called SonarPad for an accessibility purpose: generating audio descriptions of video content for blind users.
Until September 2, everything was working normally. I had a paid Gemini API project with prepaid credit and a separate free-tier project. Both projects became unavailable at approximately 21:35 local time. About 20 minutes later, I received a notice stating that my access to Google Cloud Platform had been restricted globally.
The notice states that the restriction was detected through an internal Google report and that the decision was processed automatically. I also received a message referring to repeated Terms of Service violations, but I was not given any information about which API request or activity triggered the restriction.
My API keys were created directly through Google AI Studio using the normal “Get API key” procedure. I did not intentionally attempt to circumvent quotas, security restrictions, or other Google policies.
My use of Gemini consisted primarily of multimodal video analysis to generate accessibility descriptions. Shortly before the restriction, I had processed several videos using Gemini Flash models. This was normal usage of the application and not an attempt to generate abusive or illegal content.
I have already submitted an appeal through the official Google Cloud appeal process on September 2, but I have not yet received a response.
I am particularly concerned that this may have been an automated false positive. Another independent user of the same application has also recently had a Gemini project/model disabled.
Could a Google team member please help me obtain a manual review, or advise me on the appropriate escalation channel?
I am happy to provide project IDs, timestamps, billing information, or any other technical details privately to a Google staff member if required.
