Google AI Studio GitHub Sign-in Loop – Existing Repository Cannot Connect

Hello Google AI Studio Team,

I am unable to connect my existing Google AI Studio project to my existing GitHub repository.

The GitHub installation and repository permissions are already granted successfully.

Problem:

  1. I click GitHub in Google AI Studio.

  2. GitHub opens and asks to install/authorize the AI Studio GitHub App.

  3. I complete the installation and grant repository access.

  4. GitHub shows that access has been granted.

  5. I return to Google AI Studio.

  6. Google AI Studio again asks me to “Sign in to GitHub”.

  7. The same process repeats every time.

Please investigate and fix the GitHub OAuth/session connection for my existing AI Studio project.

I do not want to create a new AI Studio project or a new GitHub repository.

Title: Google AI Studio GitHub Integration – Sign-in Loop and Repository Connection Failure

Hi Google AI Studio team,

I’m having a persistent problem with the GitHub integration in Google AI Studio.

I have a project in Google AI Studio where I made significant changes to my website. I wanted to connect the project to GitHub so I could pull/push changes and keep the latest version safely stored.

However, the GitHub connection is not working.

When I click the GitHub option in AI Studio, I’m asked to sign in to GitHub. I complete the GitHub authorization/installation process and grant the requested repository access. After GitHub redirects me back to AI Studio, AI Studio either:

  • takes me back to “Sign in to GitHub to continue”, or

  • briefly shows “Create new repository” and then returns to the sign-in screen.

I have already tried revoking and re-authorizing the Google AI Studio GitHub App.

I also tested this with a completely new GitHub account, and the same problem occurred. This makes me think the issue may be with the AI Studio GitHub integration rather than my particular GitHub account or repository.

My current concern

I have a Nashville Studios project with a complete newer version of the website in AI Studio. These changes have not yet been pushed to GitHub.

My GitHub repository only contains the older version.

Because the GitHub connection is currently unavailable, I’m unable to push the newer version and I’m concerned about losing those changes if something happens to the AI Studio project.

Could you please investigate whether there is currently an issue with the GitHub OAuth/session/repository connection in AI Studio?

I would also appreciate knowing whether there is another officially supported way to safely export/sync the current AI Studio project to GitHub while this issue is being investigated.

Environment

  • Google AI Studio: Build mode

  • Browser: Google Chrome

  • Device: Windows laptop/PC

  • GitHub: Tested with both my existing GitHub account and a newly created GitHub account

  • Issue occurs with both accounts

I can provide screenshots or a screen recording of the authorization loop if needed.

Thank you.

Hello @Rabiosa ,
Can you share a screen recording of the issue via DM?

Even after granting access, it doesn’t connect to my repo.

It only shows an error after redirecting to AI Studio
