Subject: Google AI Studio GitHub Authentication Loop — Existing Repository Cannot Be Connected

Hello Google AI Studio Engineering Team,

I am experiencing a persistent GitHub authentication and repository-connection problem in Google AI Studio Build Mode.

AI Studio project

Project: EngineDO — Engineering Operations & Digital Orchestration
AI Studio App ID: 3e48fa2e-c99d-41fc-92ee-8c9401af7311

GitHub

GitHub account: obitech246-bot
Repository: obitech246-bot/enginedo
Branch: main

Problem

From the EngineDO workspace I go to:

Settings → GitHub → Sign in to GitHub

GitHub authentication completes successfully.

After authentication, GitHub opens the Google AI Studio GitHub App installation/settings page.

The installation is active and shows:

  • Google AI Studio
  • Developed by google-gemini
  • Read access to commit statuses, issues and metadata
  • Read/write access to Actions, Administration, Code, Pull Requests and Workflows
  • Repository access set to Only select repositories
  • Selected repository: obitech246-bot/enginedo

However, when I return to Google AI Studio, the GitHub panel still shows:

“Sign in to GitHub to continue”

If I repeat the process, the same thing happens.

Clean reproduction

I have reproduced the problem in a completely fresh Chrome Incognito session.

The sequence is:

  1. Open Google AI Studio.
  2. Open the EngineDO project.
  3. Open Settings → GitHub.
  4. Select Sign in to GitHub.
  5. Successfully authenticate with GitHub.
  6. GitHub displays the active Google AI Studio installation with access to obitech246-bot/enginedo.
  7. Return to Google AI Studio.
  8. AI Studio still displays “Sign in to GitHub to continue.”

Therefore, the GitHub account authentication and GitHub App installation can be independently verified, but AI Studio does not appear to retain or recognize the authenticated GitHub connection after the OAuth flow.

Existing EngineDO source

The EngineDO application already has a local V1 Git baseline.

Commit message:
EngineDO V1 Release Candidate baseline

The intended repository is:

obitech246-bot/enginedo

I am not trying to create another repository or another EngineDO project.

Request

Please investigate the Google AI Studio GitHub integration for this workspace, specifically the OAuth/session state and repository-binding/synchronization state.

If the workspace’s GitHub connection state is stuck or invalid, please reset or repair the AI Studio-side GitHub connection so that the existing EngineDO workspace can connect to:

obitech246-bot/enginedo

on:

main

I would like to use the documented AI Studio GitHub synchronization workflow to maintain the EngineDO source going forward.

I have deliberately not:

  • created another repository;
  • deleted or recreated the EngineDO project;
  • uninstalled the Google AI Studio GitHub App;
  • changed the repository to another account;
  • modified the EngineDO application to work around the GitHub integration.

I can provide screenshots or a screen recording showing both:

  1. the successful GitHub authentication and active Google AI Studio installation with enginedo selected; and
  2. the subsequent return to AI Studio where “Sign in to GitHub to continue” is displayed again.

No passwords, OAuth tokens, API keys, or other private credentials are included in this report.

Thank you for investigating this issue.

Kind regards,

EngineDO Project Owner
