Google AI studio error resulting from missing media

I have a pretty old and long chat with Gemini in AI Studio, which contained media files. About 2 months ago I discovered that some of the files had disappeared from the chat (probably due to an error or something, they were also gone from Google Drive), but the chat was still working after that happened. Gemini was perfectly capable of keeping in mind the context around those old images based on my text prompt descriptions that had accompanied them and its subseauent responses. A few days ago, the chat in question stopped working. Now, whenever I send a new prompt, the model is just processing indefinitely, no more responses

@Cuptor_Singur : It sounds like there may be a few potential reasons for the issue you’re experiencing with the chat functionality in AI Studio using Gemini. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue:1.Check Connection and Refresh: Ensure that your internet connection is stable. Try refreshing the web page or restarting the app to see if that resolves the processing issue.2.Review Chat History: Since the chat is old and had media files that were mistakenly deleted, check to see if there are any specific messages that are causing issues, particularly around those missing media files. Sometimes, the model may be trying to access context that it can no longer retrieve, leading to indefinite processing.3.Create a New Chat: If the existing chat continues to have issues, you might try starting a new chat session. You can copy and paste relevant portions of text from the old chat to the new one to retain context without depending on the old media files.4.Clear Cache: If you’re using a web browser, consider clearing your browser cache or using an incognito window. This can sometimes resolve performance issues related to old data.5.Check AI Studio Settings: Look for any settings related to chat history or media management within the Gemini or AI Studio settings. There may be an option to reset or refresh context, or it may allow you to manage how media and files are accessed in relation to your chats.6.Contact Support: If the problem persists after trying the above solutions, consider reaching out to the support team for AI Studio or Gemini. Provide them with details of the issue, including when it began and any error messages you’ve seen, so they can assist you further.By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the issue and potentially restore the functionality of your chat session.

About that, it turns out I hadn’t deleted the media by mistake. It seems like AI Studio itself deleted it, probably due to an error. Not that it changes anything, but it raises an important question: why did AI Studio delete media from the chat?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Could you please provide more information like approximate date and time of the chat conversation? Is isolated to a single chat or if it has occurred with other conversations?
Could you clarify whether the media files included only images or if there were other types of files, and specify the name of the model you were using in that particular chat?
