I’m experiencing a severe and persistent issue with my Gemini chats not loading, and it has been ongoing for the past few days. This is preventing me from accessing all my previous conversations and continuing my work.
Problem Description:
When I access Gemini (both via the web interface and the mobile app), my list of past chats remains empty, or attempts to load indefinitely. I do not receive any error messages directly in the UI, but the chat history simply does not populate. Starting new chats works, but the previous chat history is inaccessible.
What I’ve Already Tried (Extensive Troubleshooting):
I have already gone through all the standard troubleshooting steps, but none have resolved the issue:
- Refresh/Reopen: Hard refreshing browser tabs (Ctrl+Shift+R) and completely closing/reopening the Gemini mobile app.
- Device Restart: Restarted my computer, smartphone, and tablet multiple times.
- Internet Connection: Verified stable internet connection on both Wi-Fi and mobile data; tried switching between them.
- Clear Cache & Cookies (Web): Cleared browser cache and cookies specifically for
gemini.google.com
. - Clear App Cache/Data (Mobile): Cleared cache and data for the Gemini app.
- Update App/OS: Ensured both the Gemini app and my device’s operating system are fully updated.
- Alternate Browsers/Devices: Tried accessing Gemini on different web browsers (Chrome, Edge) and on different devices (desktop, mobile phone). The issue persists across all.
- Disable Browser Extensions: Tested in Incognito mode (which disables extensions by default) and explicitly disabled all extensions in my regular browser.
- Google Workspace/AI Studio Status: Checked the Google Workspace Status Dashboard and Google AI Studio Status page, but didn’t see any reported incidents that explain a continuous outage specifically for chat history loading.
- “My Activity” Check: Crucially, I can still see and access my full chat history “Modified by moderator”. This confirms the data exists and is stored, but it’s not being displayed in the Gemini interface itself. “Gemini Apps Activity” is ON in my Google Account settings.
- Pinned Chats: I noticed some previous reports of issues with pinned chats. I do have some chats pinned, but the entire list (pinned or unpinned) fails to load.

Could you please investigate this further or provide guidance on potential resolutions beyond typical user-side fixes?
