How can I hope to recover? I have tried in opera, and I have a second account there without pro where the chats open fine…
Is there any way to contact google via phone conversation, I am guessing not, since I feel like an idiot asking lol.
Anyone else experience this problem? Do I even get them back? Or did I use too much data or something on my free trial? I was going to keep using pro, unlikely now though.

Can you elaborate on which platform are you using, how did you loose chats and have you made any changes to your account?
I am facing the same issue. My non-pro friend’s account load perfectly file on the same browser, same time. My pro account is showing error “couldn’t load recent chat. try reloading this page”
Even the app wont show those. same issue in the app too

I think it has to do with the amount of content that Gemini is remembering on some conversations. I am not sure, but it is like it gets slower and more bloated, when it like “decides” to “remember” so much, that the amount of time it gives us to “load conversation history” is no longer sufficient for the amount of text data to load, and I guess google didn’t expect people to keep conversations, and instead to start new ones or something when they get bogged down?
So my theory is that there is a point of reduced returns, and then a point of negative returns, in terms of the amount of breadth of data that Gemini can hold per conversation, and I have breached this limit multiple times in unnaturally long conversations, by keeping windows open.
That’s my theory anyway, too many conversations with too many words, and poorly managed systems backing them.
I waited until my pro time was up to see if it was temporary, it expires tomorrow, and I will see if it changes, but so far my conversations are gone, and some, if i return to them through other links etc, are glitched, and do not save new material.
I have tried it on the website as mentioned, I also tried the application.
At first the application worked better, now they are both the same, relatively worthless for this account.
Yes, it was off and on, like I was on the edge of some threshold, and instead of taking what I had and making a new account, I decided it was just a glitch and kept using this account, but it just got worse as I used it, and seems pretty permanent as of now. Chats gone.
