Hello Google Gemini API Support,
We are experiencing a location-based failure when calling the Gemini API from our backend server.
- Server public/egress IP:
104.207.93.99 - Server region: Singapore
- Model:
gemini-3.6-flash - Endpoint:
v1beta/models/gemini-3.6-flash:generateContent - Error:
400 FAILED_PRECONDITION — User location is not supported for the API use. - Approximate occurrence: October 8, 2026, around 03:02 UTC
Singapore appears in the Gemini API supported-regions list. We also tested the same API key and model from a separate supported-region network, where the request succeeded with HTTP 200. From this VM, requests consistently fail with the location error.
Could you please check how this IP is classified for Gemini API access and advise whether its location classification can be reviewed or corrected?
We can provide the Google Cloud project ID and additional sanitized request details if needed. We have intentionally not included the API key in this message.
