Hello Google Gemini API Team,
I am a student using the Gemini API for a low-volume educational/personal development project called “AI Document Intelligence & RAG Assistant.”
My Google AI Studio project currently shows:
Billing Tier: Unavailable
Status: Restricted
The Rate Limit page displays:
“Project quota tier unavailable. Please contact your project administrator for assistance.”
It also says:
“This Project’s API access is restricted. Please set up billing to continue.”
When I make a Gemini API request from Python, I receive:
403 PERMISSION_DENIED: Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.
I have completed:
- Age/DOB verification
- Phone verification
- 2-Step Verification
I would like to use the eligible Free Tier for low-volume development and testing and would prefer not to enable paid billing.
Could you please manually review my project and let me know why the project has been restricted, and whether Free Tier Gemini API access can be restored?
