Gemini API 403 PERMISSION_DENIED – Project Access Restricted

I am trying to integrate the Gemini API into an educational website.

My Google Cloud project details are:

  • Project name: XSTK

  • Project ID: gen-lang-client-04561891..

  • Gemini API status: Enabled

However, my API requests consistently return the following error:

403 PERMISSION_DENIED: Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.

Google AI Studio previously displayed a Restricted status for my project.

Could you please clarify why this project has been restricted and explain the official steps to request a review or restore access?
