Frustating usage limit, getting reset to week after one 5 hour session

I don’t even know where to begin with how unbelievably frustrating this is, because right now this “rate limit system” doesn’t just feel bad — it feels completely nonsensical.

What exactly is the logic here?

I hit a 5-hour limit. Fine. That’s already restrictive, but whatever — I wait it out like I’m supposed to. The timer resets, and naturally I assume I can continue working.

Nope.

The very next moment I try to use it again, I get slapped with a 6 days 18 hours cooldown.

Excuse me — what?

So what you’re effectively telling me is:

  • The 5-hour limit exists… for what reason exactly?

  • Because it doesn’t actually reset anything in a meaningful way

  • It just acts as a trigger that throws me straight into a nearly week-long lockout

How does that make any sense?

Why even show a 5-hour reset if using it immediately escalates into a 6-day penalty? That’s not a limit system — that’s a bait-and-switch.

And let’s be clear here: I’m a Google AI Pro user. I’m literally paying for this. This is not some free-tier experiment where I expect rough edges. This is supposed to be a usable, reliable product.

Instead, what I’m getting is:

  • No clear explanation

  • No warning that I’m about to get locked out for a week

  • No consistency in how limits behave

  • And absolutely zero ability to plan my usage like a normal human being

Am I supposed to just guess when your system is going to randomly decide I’ve used it “too correctly”?

And the biggest question:
Am I seriously expected to just stop working for almost 7 days because I used the product as intended?

Because that’s exactly what this feels like.

This isn’t just frustrating — it actively makes the service unusable for any kind of real workflow. You can’t rely on something that suddenly locks you out for a week with no transparent reasoning.

If this is intentional, then it’s honestly one of the most poorly thought-out rate limiting designs I’ve ever seen.

If it’s a bug, then it’s a massive one — because it completely breaks the core usability of the product. And if this isn’t a bug, then your employees are the bugs that you have to remove from your company cause what kind of system is this dude. This is like ragebaiting the people why pay you. freaking insane guys.

Either way, this needs:

  1. A clear explanation of what’s actually happening

  2. Immediate fixes, if this is unintended

  3. And most importantly a system that doesn’t punish normal usage like this

Because right now, this doesn’t feel like a “Pro” experience in any sense of the word. It feels like I’m constantly one click away from being locked out for a week for no clear reason.

Please fix this or at the very least, explain it properly because this is beyond frustrating.

Apart from the things you experienced, with the weekly reset bug, I loved the vibe of Antigravity. But introducing the credit system was the final nail in the coffin for me. I haven’t used Antigravity since then and just unsubscribed on my alt accounts. The other reasons for ending the business relationship were that Flash broke more things than it fixed and Gemini itself wasn’t too bad but compared to Opus or Sonnet its character feels too relentless. A few weeks ago I moved back to Anthropic after two years of Gemini because their €90 plan does exactly what I paid Google to provide, at least in terms of availability and ability when it comes to satisfying the coding needs. While the TUI of Claude Code works I miss the Antigravity look and feel.
