Bro still no comms on this widespread ban. I understand trial abuse is on the rise, and there are a lot of annoying people using their subs in weird little ways. But you have to have better ways of detecting true abusers from weird edge cases.
I for one haven’t pushed enough tokens through my sub to warrant a suspension, moreover, if you offload this task to like offshore teams that is annoying. Have and pay a dedicated team in America, have a hotline people can call etc…
Moreover, I can email GDB when some weird bug happens and he responds. I email Logan or anyone else on the Gemini team or DM and they don’t respond like… You guys are behind on all these metrics and then have the worst customer service. Purge all the free access if it is too hard to clamp down, but don’t let that leak into paying customers. Moreover, if the customer is in the USA and has a long history–maybe escalate to a human before banning.
Have dedicated lanes for people paying $99 and up, maybe charge for extra service/priority help. Do something because if the models are … compared to other foundation labs and the customer service is also bad, then you are dead in the water.
I’m so mad that Gemini has been so bad, I have been a sub since Bard started… Like get it together … Have better comms man.
I had the same thing happen. I used agy a couple of times last week in the IDE. I did not violate any ToS. I do not understand why my service is suspended for an alleged violation.
Yeah same usage pattern here. This false flag for me happened after leaving a … session that I used to start the prompt, on a question. I came back to the prompt which btw I only really left unattended because I got distracted + I had already answered a few questions. Something that about grill-me vs other tool’s planning = so many questions.
When I came back it said task had been running for 6hrs, but in reality it had just been waiting for a response to a planning question. That long turn is the only thing that I think would be the reason.
But this is what … about Google, horrible service + lack of personal touch + they fix errors and never say “sorry for the inconvenience, we just found xyz issue and patched it”. It is always break and fix without saying anything, and if you don’t beg for compensation they basically tell you to …
It is about to be 24hrs, which makes me think the “appeal” is a lazy automation, and will just auto approve after 24hrs. Which does not fix the issue that if you get another false positive, you will get banned. They need to release a statement and reset the “suspension” count, and make it right.
In June I bought a year subscription to Gemini Pro. I’m only doing personal work. On June 23 while using agy I got a 403 Oauth… warning. The only thing I can think of is I wanted to try a different Gemini model so I did a /model and saw Claude opus as a choice and selected it. Or was it something else it did. I appealed immediately, then again about 10 days later. No joy, no nothing - silence! Help desk no help.
What is the process going forward?
Is anyone getting resolution?
Is it safe to use say vscode with api key or is this a violation?
Daily brief continued to work through at least 28 June, but no longer.
Mine was cleared too, zero email notifation–I just checked again. I already cancelled the Ultra sub though. Switching Codex $200 + Cursor. The customer service and insta ban really triggered me, probably won’t ever resub.
