Downgrade to Free tier on a project - can it made be easier?

Hello all, there are currently issues with the free version of the API key continuously returning 429, as already specified in posts like this: Confusion about adding billing to enable free tier - Gemini Apps Community

At the moment I cannot even downgrade the Billing I have setup on the project to the Free Tier, can’t find an option to let me do it. Does anyone has hints on how to do it without deleting the project?

Hi

If you have a project and API key associated with a request, it would be go through as a Tier 1 request

if you remove the API key from the request, it would be a free tier request
