I don’t know what caused it, but the team must have had something to do with it.
The only change I made was to close all my browser sessions.
It’s broken for me since 3 days now. No commit to git possible at the moment

Same problem - I solved it from github settings → applications →Google Ai Studio→Configure→Repository Access → “Your repository” →Save
I just started my GitHub sync because of the publishing issue within AI Studio to Cloud Run. I am running Portainer locally on Ubuntu Server. Anyhow, the initial sync works and Git publishes my container and I pull it down. All is happy. Further commits it is broken, getting the error. Tried all the things from this board, google, reddit, etc.
Deleting the .github folder in AI Studio that has my docker-publish makes it sync. Add the folder, get the error. It seems it has issues passing FOLDERs with the period (hidden). It passes the files like .dockerignore or .gitignore just fine.
Not sure what the issue is or how to work around it other than just copying/pasting my Docker deploy file into GitHub every time I commit. I am unsure if this muddies the water even more on the issue, but hopefully, I can at least manually fix the issue for some, since copy/pasting your .github folder yaml files isn’t hard, and they are usually fairly static
i was having this problem earlier where every time i would try to push to my git i would get an error
At that same time i was able to publish through the cloud etc.
Now my github commit works but when i try to publish i keep getting revision errors.
How to Fix Google AI Studio GitHub Sync Issue (Workaround)
I ran into this exact same synchronization problem. After some troubleshooting, I managed to fix it by completely resetting the connection and migrating the project.
Here is the step-by-step workaround that solved it for me:
1. Backup your current project
Go to your existing (broken) project in Google AI Studio and download/export your project files as a .zip archive.
2. Set up a fresh project
Create a completely new project in Google AI Studio. Delete all the default files generated in this new workspace, and then upload/unzip the files from the .zip archive you downloaded in Step 1.
3. Revoke AI Studio permissions on GitHub
You need to completely disconnect Google AI Studio from your GitHub account. Go to your GitHub Settings → Applications.

Go to the Installed GitHub Apps tab, click “Configure” next to Google AI Studio (and Gemini Code Assist, if applicable), and uninstall/remove them.

Go to the Authorized GitHub Apps tab and click “Revoke” next to Google AI Studio.

4. Reconnect to GitHub
Go back to your new project in Google AI Studio and set up the GitHub synchronization from scratch. Since the old permissions are cleared out, it should connect and sync perfectly like a brand new setup.

Still not going for me. Different computers, different github…
Importing zip on a blank project seems broken now too. It is for me.
I just tried this recently and everything was working fine.
Here is the workflow that worked for me: after creating a new project, you need to delete all existing files inside it first. Then, without saving any intermediate changes, upload your ZIP archive directly into the empty project.
It seems the trick is starting with a completely clean environment before the import.
Also, make sure to change the project name as well. This seems to be a mandatory step to get it synchronized correctly.
Github works fine for me.
To everyone saying Ai Studio does not work, why don’t you just save the project locally and work on it there?
There is nothing special about AI studio (other than it being good at setting up a web app for you)
So create the app, save locally or to GitHub.
Run it locally, problem solved.
That way Ai Studio can’t cause you any problems.
I’ve got dozens and dozens of working web apps like this.
Running both locally along with many running live in my own websites with various non Google servers.
I have fixed this critical issue by
1, Rename the repository to another name and recover it back in the github settings
2, Remove the Google AIStudio related authorization settings in the github. (May no use to do it) and then reconnect the github in the Google AIStudio.
