Constantly receiving “failed to generate content” in every chat containing a video

I haven’t logged into Google ai studio in a good couple of weeks. For some reason, I cannot generate content in chats that contain a video. I have one chat I’m using for a project that has about 200k tokens. Everything seemed fine. Now all of a sudden I cannot continue the conversation. I created a new chat, pasted a YouTube link and immediately I receive “an internal error has occurred” and at the top it says “failed to generate content”.

Why is this happening? I do not use google ai studio that extensively. I am also on the Google Ai pro subscription. I only have the one 200k token chat that contains just one video at the top. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps:

  • scroll to top, wait for video to load and scroll back to bottom to retype in prompt
  • Clear cache
  • Ctrl+F5 for harsh refresh
  • Tried different devices

I’ve looked up other users having this issue and it seems to be all because of the video in the chat. Just any video. Is there any fix for this ? If this behavior is consistent I’m just confused how I can continue to use this

Same issue here, been happening on my end since they introduced the subscriptions to GAIS. It also happens in video’s uploaded via local or google drive as well not just Youtube links. Its either a bug or they have denied all Video use for the subscriptions.

There has been almost no recognition of this issue at the moment so hopefully this is the first domino to a solution.

Same issue, really hampering my main use case of summarizing lectures etc

It works fine on free accounts! Only we paid subscribers are doomed and I raised the compliant many times here, But I feel like they seem to care less about their subscribers.

I don’t feel Google Team will solve this issue. They are punishing the paid subscribers

I am reaching out out of sheer frustration. I am a paying customer who has spent months trying to build and deploy a basic model/website, but I have been bounced around almost every enterprise and developer tool Google offers without a single functional result.

Here is the exact journey and the tools I have paid for and attempted to use:

  • The Starting Point: I started with Google Workspace (which eventually handed my domain off to Squarespace).

  • The AI Exploration: I moved through Gemini Ultra, NotebookLM, and Google AI Studio.

  • The Cloud & Backend: I was directed to Google Cloud features, Firebase, Vertex AI, and the broader Google Enterprise / Developer environments. (Along the way, I also engaged with tools like Stitch and Antigravity).

  • The Development Environment: I finally installed Android Studio, set up a small database, and tried to create a basic working model.

The Result: Despite investing significant time and good money into this massive stack of tools, absolutely nothing is functional. All I have is a blank screen.

My Question: I have severely overcomplicated my tech stack by following various documentation paths. I just want something visible and functional on my domain right now. How do I bypass this massive enterprise loop, drop the tools I don’t need, and just get my basic project live and visible?

Any straightforward, step-by-step guidance would be deeply appreciated.
