Constantly receiving “failed to generate content” in every chat containing a video

I haven’t logged into Google ai studio in a good couple of weeks. For some reason, I cannot generate content in chats that contain a video. I have one chat I’m using for a project that has about 200k tokens. Everything seemed fine. Now all of a sudden I cannot continue the conversation. I created a new chat, pasted a YouTube link and immediately I receive “an internal error has occurred” and at the top it says “failed to generate content”.

Why is this happening? I do not use google ai studio that extensively. I am also on the Google Ai pro subscription. I only have the one 200k token chat that contains just one video at the top. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps:

  • scroll to top, wait for video to load and scroll back to bottom to retype in prompt
  • Clear cache
  • Ctrl+F5 for harsh refresh
  • Tried different devices

I’ve looked up other users having this issue and it seems to be all because of the video in the chat. Just any video. Is there any fix for this ? If this behavior is consistent I’m just confused how I can continue to use this

Same issue here, been happening on my end since they introduced the subscriptions to GAIS. It also happens in video’s uploaded via local or google drive as well not just Youtube links. Its either a bug or they have denied all Video use for the subscriptions.

There has been almost no recognition of this issue at the moment so hopefully this is the first domino to a solution.
