Cannot complete Antigravity verification — SMS to short codes 244444/96831 fails from Taiwan (request manual verify or alternative)

Hi Antigravity team,

I am stuck in the Antigravity “Verify your account to continue” / device verification loop and cannot complete eligibility verification.

Account: fo****gmail.com
Product: Google Antigravity (IDE / login verification)
Region: Taiwan

What happens:
Google account sign-in succeeds. Antigravity then requires phone verification via QR scan. After scanning, the phone is forced to send an SMS to Google short codes such as 244444 or 96831. Every attempt fails immediately with “发送失败” / “Not Delivered”.

Issue:
Outbound SMS to these short codes cannot be delivered from my current setup in Taiwan. There is no working alternative verification method shown in the UI for my account.

What I have already tried:

  • Cellular data only (Wi‑Fi off)
  • Stock messaging app
  • Retrying over multiple days

Request:
Could a team member please either:

  1. Manually verify / clear the verification flag on my account for Antigravity access, or
  2. Provide an alternative verification method that does not require sending SMS to short codes 244444 / 96831?

I am the legitimate owner of this account. Thank you for your help.

Same from France, with 2FA passkeys payment methods valid, from a mac, from a pc, with an iphone+safari or +chrome, no other verification method than SMS to US short number is available, although I pay for AI Pro.

Could a team member please Manually verify / clear the verification flag on my account for Antigravity access ?

Hi @foryou0348 @yastupin ,

The SMS is failing because 244444 and 96831 are US domestic short codes that carriers outside the US (in Taiwan and France) cannot route. This is almost always triggered when a US VPN/proxy is running during sign-in.

Both Taiwan and France are natively supported, so here is the quickest fix:

  1. Turn off any VPN/proxy and sign in directly from your local connection. This usually prompts Google to send an incoming code to your phone instead of asking you to text a US number.
  2. Use Google Prompt or Authenticator by going to myaccount.google.com/security, ensure Google Prompt or Google Authenticator is enabled, and click “Try another way” on the verification screen to approve it with a tap or code instead of SMS.
  3. If the onboarding wizard is still looping then sign in with any secondary free Google account just to reach the editor, then go to Settings > Accounts to sign out and log in with your primary account.

Let me know is the issue resolves or the issue still persists?

Hello,

Thank you for your input on my issue.

I now get a French number to send the SMS to (nothing changed on my side since previous attempt) but get a new error “The device you used to scan the QR code was used too many times for verification” with different devices, so it’s probably my phone number that is blocked or something else now.

A free account would probably get to the same point device / number used too many times.

Well I’ll just unsubscribe I guess.

Thanks again.
